Rise early for our drive to Lake Nakuru, which is known for housing a large variety of birds. We’ll arrive at our lodge inside the park around lunchtime. Get settled and head out to spot some rhinos and other wildlife on an afternoon safari drive. (F) (M) (A)

3. Tag Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy two safari drives; one in the morning and one in the afternoon, catching this park and the wildlife at different times of day. Afterwards, drive along the shimmering shores of Lake Nakuru before stopping at the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). At this government institution you will hear a talk from a representative discussing the issues surrounding the poaching of rhinos and what is being done to manage their conservation. (F) (M) (A)

4. Tag Lake Nakuru National Park / Lake Naivasha

Travel south to Lake Naivasha passing through the lands of the Great Rift Valley en route. This large freshwater lake is surrounded by olive trees and grassy banks. We’ll set off on a boat to cruise the waters in search of hippos, crocodiles, and buffalo. Then, enjoy a guided walk on Crescent Island-a peaceful wildlife sanctuary located in the middle of the lake. (F) (M) (A)

5. Tag Lake Naivasha / Masai Mara

Adventure onward to the legendary National Reserve of the Masai Mara. Once here settle into our tented camp and embark on an afternoon safari through the lands. 6. Tag Masai Mara

Rise and shine for an early morning safari drive into the reserve to try and track the animals that roamed through the savanna during the night. This is the time of day when ungulates like Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelle are at their most active. In the late afternoon, set out on another safari drive to appreciate the timeless landscapes of the Masai Mara. (F) (M) (A)

7. Tag Masai Mara / Nairobi

Check another item off those travel lists as you watch the sunrise over the savannah on your final safari in Masai Mara. Afterwards, journey back to Nairobi stopping along the way at Café Ubuntu, a G Adventures-supported project that trains and employs local women and mothers of children with disabilities. Here, visit the craft centre to meet some of the women and sit down for a wonderful farm-to-table lunch. (F) (M)

9. Tag Arusha / Lake Manyara National Park

This morning take a guided walk through the Mto wa Mbu village where you will visit the local market and meet artisans in their workshops. Then share a traditional lunch with a local family before continuing to the Rift Valley escarpment to settle into our safari camp. Be on the lookout for lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, and other wildlife on our first safari drive in Lake Manyara National Park. (F) (M) (A)

10. Tag Lake Manyara National Park / Serengeti National Park

Today arrive in a Maasai village after driving through the Rift Valley and learn about the G Adventures-supported Clean Cookstoves Project. Experience a presentation by a Massai woman detailing the impact that this project has had in these communities and end with a guided tour of the village. Along the way to our safari camp in Serengeti National Park we will stop at the Olduvai Gorge Museum and Visitor’s Centre. (F) (M) (A)

It’s all about safaris today on this visit to one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves; the Serengeti. Set out on morning and afternoon safaris in a 4×4 through the flowing grasslands. If luck is on your side, spot all of Africa’s „big five“ animals before settling in at the Serengeti Wildlife Research Centre to enjoy a talk by one of the visiting researchers. (F) (M) (A)

Descend into the green-walled paradise of the Ngorongoro Crater to spot more wildlife on an early morning safari. Ngorongoro also happens to be the largest non-flooded caldera in the world.
